The After School Program Assistant will support school-based After School programs and provide administrative assistance to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Responsibilities include coaching sports, assisting with enrichment activities, and supervising AmeriCorps team members.
Candidates must have at least 48 semester units completed from an accredited college, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working on an urban school site and youth development experience are also preferred.
Work closely with the After School Program Coordinator, after school providers, and school staff to support After School programming and to implement student assessment and other evaluation tools Coach sports and other recreational activities during After School programming (may include some Saturdays for team sports games) Assist with enrichment activities and events such as visual and performing arts, technology, leadership, and recreation activities as indicated by Safe Passages staff Supervise and coach school-based AmeriCorps team members Support all transition periods including school day dismissal, snack, academic to enrichment, and program dismissal Assist with family outreach and after school events such as family nights and student showcases/performances Participate in Safe Passages professional development training sessions and monthly After School Team meetings Attend OUSD and School Site Staff meetings Other duties as needed Necessary Skills and Qualifications: Ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively. English skills are required.
