The teacher is responsible for planning and providing instruction to K-12 students with special needs while collaborating with staff to meet IEP goals. They also manage classroom behavior, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate academic and behavioral records.
Job Title: Autistic Support Teacher
This position is responsible for the planning and provision of instruction and services to students K-12, enrolled in the AIU-operated Special Education Schools. The instructor collaborates closely with other professional school-based personnel in designing lessons and activities that address both specific learners’ IEP goals and exposes students to the PA Academic Standards. The instructor supervises and directs non-professional staff in support of students’ instructional and behavioral learning targets as well as general classroom management.
1. Current Act 114, Act 34, Act 151 and NSOR Clearances required prior to an offer (must be dated within 1 year of hire date). 2. School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.
