The Resource Teacher will provide specialized instruction and academic support to middle school students while developing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). They will collaborate with general education teachers and families to support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Resource Teacher to join a supportive school team in Boulder, Colorado. This full-time position focuses on providing individualized and small-group instruction to students who require additional academic and special education support. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and committed to helping students build confidence, independence, and academic success.
Provide specialized instruction and academic support to middle school students receiving special education services. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Provide individual and small-group instruction based on student needs and IEP goals. Adapt curriculum, instructional strategies, and materials to support student learning. Monitor and document student progress toward academic and functional goals. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families. Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and other school-based planning activities. Maintain accurate and timely special education documentation. Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development. Remain flexible and responsive to changing student, classroom, and team needs.
Minimum of one year of classroom experience required. Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. Must currently hold or be in the process of obtaining a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license. Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills. Must be a flexible and dependable team player. Previous middle school and special education resource experience is preferred.
