  • Summary: The Assistant Golf Coach supports all aspects of the men's and women's golf program. The Assistant Coach will help build and sustain a competitive program while fostering academic success, leadership, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree required or an equivalent combination of training and coaching experience. Successful coaching and recruiting experience required, at the collegiate level, is preferred. Current CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting team practices, skill development sessions, and tournament preparation. Provide instruction in golf fundamentals, including swing mechanics, short game, putting, course management, and competitive strategy. Assist with developing individualized training plans that support student-athlete skill development and competitive performance. Support tournament-day operations, including travel, warm-ups, practice rounds, course preparation, tournament management, and post-round evaluations. Help monitor student-athlete fitness, wellness, and conditioning while promoting healthy training habits and injury prevention. Build and maintain positive recruiting relationships with high school coaches, golf programs, junior golf organizations, and prospective student-athletes throughout Maine and New England. Assist with program operations, including equipment management, travel coordination, scheduling, fundraising initiatives, and team events. Maintain compliance with institutional, conference, and athletic department policies while fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
