The specialist will provide direct support to community members by sharing resources on substance use prevention and parenting education while managing program data and communications. They will also coordinate community outreach activities, facilitate workshops, and maintain effective relationships with referral agencies and stakeholders.
Required Bachelor’s degree in social work, Education, or health education field or High School Diploma with a CPP (Certified Prevention Professional) or CPS (Certified Prevention Specialist) and experience Knowledge of drug information, prevention concepts, and education field Excellent communication and presentation skills Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills Strong organization and time management skills Ability to take initiative and work independently Ability to manage multiple job tasks with continuously changing priorities Experience working with at-risk and culturally diverse population Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other computer related tasks Preferred: Non-profit and/or social services industry experience WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional participation in outdoor community events. The position requires flexibility to work both standard and non-traditional hours as needed. The employee must be able to engage with community members in-person and virtually for extended periods, remain stationary for prolonged periods, move throughout the office or other work locations as necessary, and regularly operate computer equipment in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with individuals, management, staff, and stakeholders while maintaining professional boundaries. The employee must also provide reliable personal transportation to and from the office and partner agency locations as needed to fulfill job-related responsibilities. Reasonable accommodation may
