ourBRIDGE for KIDS is looking for a dynamic ESL teacher, passionate about supporting diverse communities in the east area of Charlotte. The Adult School English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher provides ESL instruction using evidence-based practices and creates a supportive and encouraging classroom environment for every student.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Create lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students to increase English language acquisition.
Create classroom instruction materials, handouts, and other resources relevant to classroom instruction.
Implement a variety of instructional delivery methods that include group or individualized instruction.
Administer student assessments to gauge student literacy skills and progress.
Complete and maintain appropriate student attendance and assessment records, and ensure submission of data.
Maintain good communications and working relationships with appropriate staff, appropriate agencies, and class site location staff.
Assess and revise lesson plans and instructional materials as needed Seek to create a learning environment that is successful in helping students reach their personal, academic, and professional goals Encourage and engage students in speaking and practicing their English language skills.
Evaluate the academic growth of students and communicate that to the students; record and report this to the supervisor.
4 hours in person/1 hour for admin Ability to perform the duties outlined in the job description. Non-traditional working hours (morning, afternoon, or evening, weekends).

This is a part-time, hybrid contracted position. The position is based in East Charlotte, North Carolina.
Hiring process includes an initial 30-minute remote interview, followed by an in-person meeting.
