About the role

As a School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) with Interim HealthCare, you’ll support middle and high school students in developing the skills they need to participate successfully in the classroom, school environment, and daily activities.

  • As a school-Based occupational therapist, here’s what you’ll do
  • Provide occupational therapy services to middle and high school students with a variety of developmental, sensory, motor, and functional needs
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students’ strengths, needs, and areas impacting their educational participation
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and student goals
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, visual-motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, functional skills, and independence
  • Support students with activities of daily living and school-related functional tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote student success
  • Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment, strategies, and environmental modifications when appropriate
  • Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans and interventions as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and regulatory guidelines
  • Educate families and school personnel regarding therapy goals, accommodations, adaptive strategies, and ways to support student independence
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment that promotes student participation, confidence, and functional independence

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Current Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the State of New Hampshire
  • Minimum of one (1) year of occupational therapy experience preferred
  • School-based or pediatric experience preferred, but not required
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Compassionate, student-focused approach and strong clinical judgment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Occupational Therapy program and hold a current New Hampshire OT license. At least one year of experience and current CPR certification are preferred.
