Position Summary

The Division of Liberal Arts English and Foreign Language Department is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to facilitate courses in Spanish by delivering high-quality instruction in flexible formats including hybrid or online classes. Adjunct faculty play a critical role in supporting student success, particularly for non-traditional students balancing education with work, family, and other responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The results you will deliver each day that matter most!
  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with established curriculum and academic standards
  • Facilitate engaging, student-centered learning experiences tailored to adult learners
  • Provide clear course expectations, timely feedback, and fair assessment of student performance
  • Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to questions or concerns
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
  • Submit required documentation, including syllabi, attendance, grades, and course reports in a timely manner
  • Participate in departmental meetings or training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/ Experience

  • What you will need to be successful!
  • A Master's degree in Spanish, or a Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in Spanish
  • Native or near-native fluency in both spoken and written Spanish and English
  • Previous post-secondary or secondary foreign language teaching experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with adult or non-traditional students also preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach in flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Experience teaching blended, hybrid, and online classes a plus
