About the role

The Floating Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing educational lesson plans while ensuring children receive necessary health services and support. This role requires moving between classrooms and sites to provide consistent care and coordination in accordance with performance standards.

WOCAP, a local non-profit organization, is seeking qualified candidates for a Floating Teacher.

This position is a 40 hours per week, 9 months a year.

Responsibilities include: 1.

Developing and educating each Child Development Services child to their fullest potential by utilizing the latest curriculum.

2.

Making weekly lesson plans and daily planning.

3.

Assist the children & families by ensuring coordination, facilitation, identification, enrollment, and provision of individual services in accordance with Child Development Services Performance Standards, licensing regulations, and WOCAP policies & procedures.

4.

Ensure that all children receive required health related services by connecting them to resources, providing follow-up support services and identifying and removing barriers to needed services.

This includes expectations to transport families to appointments, report difficulties to supervisors in writing, and ensuring follow-up within 30 days.

5.

Float positions require moving between classrooms as needed per day, including traveling to another site to perform the same responsibilities as needed.

Requirements include: MUST be able to pass drug screen and background check.

Candidate must possess High School Diploma or GED.

MUST have an AA degree in Early Childhood Education OR valid CDA AND be enrolled in a program that grants a qualifying associate or higher degree in Early Childhood Education/related field, and the required coursework and experience, to be completed within three years.

Certifications in Child Abuse & Neglect, Communicable Disease, CPR, and First-Aid must be maintained.

Valid Ohio driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and privately-owned vehicle during working hours preferred.

Ability to check electronic mail, entering data into program-specific software for required reports, and Internet skills required.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a valid CDA with an enrollment plan for a degree. Additionally, applicants must pass a background check and drug screen, and maintain certifications in CPR, First-Aid, and communicable disease management.
