About the role

The instructor is responsible for facilitating learning for diverse students in the Associate Degree Nursing Program through various delivery formats. They must also develop curriculum, assess student performance, and maintain relevant course materials in alignment with college standards.

Overview

NOTE

This is an adjunct instructional position. Course assignments are made on a semester-by-semester basis and are contingent upon departmental needs, student enrollment, and scheduling availability. As such, hours are not guaranteed, and teaching opportunities may not be available immediately upon hire.

Position Summary

Provide instruction to students in the Associate Degree Nursing Program through a variety of delivery formats (e.g.: online, face to face, virtual computer conference) at Lakeshore College. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned)

(100%) Instruction Responsible for placing learning first and providing educational experiences for learners in various delivery formats, schedules, and in various places in accordance with the mission of the college inclusive of: facilitating learning of diverse students, assessing student performance, as well as instruction and outcomes, developing and maintaining current/relevant course materials, and communicating with the community, other schools, the college, the division, and team members. Developing curriculum, including learning activities and assessments. Work with curriculum coach to ensure state and Lakeshore design requirements are met. Teaching/training in business and industry may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university is required. A minimum of two years' (4,000 hours) of recent relevant occupational experience in a related discipline is required. One year (2,000 hours) of experience within the last five years is strongly preferred.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. ABILITIES Adapt quickly to new and changing technology. Perform work accurately and thoroughly, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail. Work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervision. Present self in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner at all times. Use discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks, maintaining deadlines. Establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students and all stakeholders.

  • ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment may require multi-tasking. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Nursing and possess at least two years of recent relevant occupational experience. Additionally, a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Wisconsin is required.
