Under general supervision, this position works closely with the Athletic Director to oversee all organizational and athletic training aspects of the collegiate teams.
Responsibilities include developing, implementing and modifying athletic training policies and procedures.
Instruct student-athletes on injury care, prevention and rehabilitation methods for existing injuries.
Establish and maintain a relationship with a local physician to ensure timely care for athlete’s needs.
Work flexible and fluctuating hours and responsibilities across various functional areas within the institution as required.
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as medium work involving lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds in addition to standing or sitting for extended periods of time. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College. If someone can do medium work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary and light work.
