Position Summary

The Athletics Administrative Intern provides administrative, communications, and compliance support to the Athletics Department. This role offers hands-on experience in collegiate athletics operations, with opportunities to develop skills in communications, NCAA compliance, and administration.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Design and write a monthly athletics newsletter highlighting teams, student-athletes, and department updates
  • Assist with basic NCAA compliance tasks and documentation
  • Help ensure adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA rules
  • Submit overnight travel forms in accordance with Clery Act requirements
  • Assist coaches with recruiting visit logistics and preparation as needed
  • Manage and maintain the recruiting room to ensure it is organized, professional, and visitor-ready
  • Provide administrative support for athletics staff and special projects

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student (preferred fields: sports management, communications, business, or related area)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Interest in collegiate athletics administration and compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
