About the role

The Lead Staff is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating youth programs for children aged 5 to 13. Additional duties include ensuring compliance with EEC regulations, overseeing special events, and providing academic support.

Description Position

School Aged Child Care, Lead Staff, at the Kids Club (Boys & Girls Club of Worcester) located at 180 Constitution Avenue, Worcester, MA.

Part time, Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm.

As required by EEC licensing, all applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Lead Staff for School Age Childcare is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a broad range of programs for youth between the age of 5 and 13.

Additional responsibilities include complying with EEC regulations.

This position is a part time year-round position.

The School Age Child Care lead staff person must have reliable transportation.

Hours of operating are Monday - Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, excluding school vacation weeks and summer break.

This is an excellent entry level position for a motivated individual who is interested in working with youth.

Additional Responsibilities: May oversee special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other Clubhouse activities as necessary.

Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

May consult with parents concerning member and Clubhouse issues.

Perform light cleaning and assume other duties as assigned.

Consistently work on your feet for up to 3 hours at a time, be physically active.

We recognize thirteen holidays annually and our centers are closed.

Additionally, if the holiday falls on a weekend day, we will be closed the Friday or Monday closest to the holiday.

Requirements

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. (per EEC regulations) Must meet one of the following: Have a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree; and have three months of experience working with school-age children; OR Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have six months of experience working with school-age children including three months of supervised experience at a school-age childcare program; OR Have nine months of experience with school-age children including three months of supervised experience at a school-age childcare program. Confidence in providing academic support, as needed, to members. Competency in navigating remote learning tools, technology equipment and modes of instruction. Strong computer skills Communication skills: Informing, Listening, Writing Group leadership skills including and understanding of group dynamics. Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities. CPR and First Aid certifications, preferred. Bilingual preferred (Spanish & English) but not required. All applicants will be required to pass a criminal offender record information check (CORI), a national background check and will need to be fingerprinted in accordance with EEC regulations.
