Overview

A Prevention Education Specialist is responsible for developing and/or delivering research-based curriculum with fidelity through youth and adult planned sessions and trainings. Prevention Education Specialists are promote the Center's prevention services. This position also provides outreach via information dissemination on the full array of collaboration services provided by The Center for Youth. The PE Specialist may be called upon to fulfill the duties of the Social Learning Specialist in his/her absence and therefore may be cross-trained in that position.

Schedule

Full time. 37.5 Hours per week. Work hours overlap to the school day. Special events or projects may take place during the early evenings occasionally.

Responsibilities

Implement needs assessment Facilitate trainings Develop and maintain resource files and outlines Complete accurate and timely records, service, evaluations and Monthly reports Design services based on curriculum and Teacher Needs Assessments Development and maintenance of resource files and training aids Provide referral readiness support to teachers Outreach and information dissemination Intake, needs assessment and service planning Transporting program participants Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Education or Human Service or related field AND 1-3 years' related experience OR equivalent combination / Master's Degree preferred CPP/ ICPS/ CASAC, advanced training or certifications preferred Experience in Rochester City School District preferred A valid drivers license Skills: Strong literacy and communication skills Strong public speaking skills Strong teaching and training skills Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office Advanced knowledge of Internet Explorer Pay Rate: $20- $21 per hour *All Offers may be contingent on a Background check and Driving record & Automobile insurance that meets agency insurance carrier requirements. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, or a related field with 1-3 years of experience. A valid driver's license is required, and certifications such as CPP, ICPS, or CASAC are preferred.
