The Afterschool Teacher role works under general supervision to assist the Afterschool program in implementing workforce development initiatives. This position interprets the curriculum and ensures instruction aligns with the curriculum goals and DCPS standards.
This position requires an individual who can work in a fast-paced environment with high energy and numerous distractions. Supervision of students is an integral part of our work. The Program Manager must be able to plan and implement activities both in person and virtually, utilizing various resources and tools. Safety is of the utmost importance; thus, planning and preparing are paramount. The duties may frequently require activities outside in varying weather conditions; employees may be exposed to sunny, wet, humid, or other conditions beyond their immediate control.
Candidates must possess a valid teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree. Additionally, they must be able to pass a Level II background screening and demonstrate effective communication skills.
