Girard College seeks a certified Music Teacher for our middle school students beginning as soon as possible. Our teachers implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction aligned to PA State Standards, work collaboratively with teachers in other disciplines as well as residential staff and participate fully in the school’s academic and residential community. Provide instruction to students using multiple musical instruments. Organize and drive school performances for Middle School students. Must possess a minimum of a State of Pennsylvania Level I Instructional Certificate or above in the content area in which they are teaching from the PA Department of Education or must obtain Instructional Intern Certificate in the content area in which they teach within one year from date of hire.

  • INFORMATION: the minimum starting salary for new teachers shall be determined by their completion of years of teaching / counseling experience and degree level. In accordance with the bargaining agreement.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in education or the specific content area and possess a Pennsylvania Level I Instructional Certificate or higher. Prior teaching experience is highly preferred, along with proficiency in multiple instruments and music-specific pedagogical methodologies.
