Job Description

Summary Miami University Regionals is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for one full time, 12-month, continuing position of Mental Health Clinician. This position will be located at the Hamilton campus with some travel required based on needs at the Middletown campus. The Mental Health Clinician (1) performs the duties of a behavioral health clinician, providing generalist clinical services to college students, and consultation services to faculty, staff, students and parents/families, and (2) provides psycho-educational outreach and programming services, during the heavily demanded Fall and Spring semesters.

Job Description

Essential Duties Provides multi-culturally informed generalist mental health counseling services, including general mental health, substance use, and attention problem screenings and individual and group counseling and psychotherapy to Miami University students presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns during the heavily demanded Fall and Spring Semesters. Intervenes in crisis and emergency situations of a mental health nature with students Consults with families, faculty, staff and other professionals regarding the mental health needs of students. Provides psycho-educational programming to various groups within the university community. Maintains clinical records and provides clinical documentation and communication with external practitioners as necessary for ethical clinical treatment. Attends and participates in clinical staff meetings and consultations. Assumes responsibility for other administrative duties as assigned including possibly serving on departmental, divisional, and university committees.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in an appropriate accredited mental health training program (social work, mental health counseling, psychology, etc.) by date of appointment. Dependently licensed or licensed eligible in Ohio within one’s field of training. Consideration may be given to applicants with specific training and experience providing mental health services to a university student population. Independently licensed in Ohio within one's field of training.
