Department: Men's Wrestling
The Assistant Wrestling Coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the successful execution of planning, developing and administering all phases of the men's wrestling program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Required Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree A minimum of 2 years of full-time coaching experience.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Master's Degree Experience with an NCAA Division I Wrestling Program
Ability to coach multiple weight classes of athletics Ability to recruit high caliber athletes throughout the country Assist with team travel and budget preparation Compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules; Monitor academic progress toward a degree; Physically demonstrate all wrestling moves with student-athletes during practice as well as run through drills, evaluate and correct the student’s performance; Supervise study hall and perform class checks; Perform other duties as required;
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of NCAA, Pac-12, and University rules; Ability to rent vehicles; Ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University; Ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University; Must have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance; Ability to work nights and weekends with extensive travel.
