This recruitment will be used to fill 10-15 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) OLV Student ECE Teacher for the Family Resource Center at Oregon State University (OSU). Our Little Village is a program providing unprecedented service to students and employees with children at two locations, Milne and Dixon. At OLV, student parents can drop off their child(ren) at no charge (student fees fund their participation in the program), while they workout at Dixon, attend a class, complete homework, go to a meeting on campus, etc. Additionally, OSU employees can pay for their child(ren) to attend OLV, so they can go to work on campus Position Duties The student employees at OLV ECE centers are the main staff of the centers. Under the guidance and direct/indirect supervision of the Site Director and Assistant Director, the student employees are primarily responsible for the welfare of the children in the centers and for providing a fun, safe, and engaging environment. As such, students are required to partner with their fellow student employees to carry out numerous tasks related to the care of children. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Interfacing with parents about their children and building relationships with families Caring for a variety of ages of children at the same time Creating a welcoming, caring, inclusive, and safe environment for all children, parents, and fellow staff members Encouraging growth and development of children by engaging with and offering age appropriate activities Working with children, families, and employees from diverse backgrounds Performing opening and closing duties Maintaining scheduled hours Changing diapers Making and/or warming up bottles and feeding to babies Adhering to sanitation requirements Problem solving, conflict resolution and decision making with children, parents, and fellow student employees Transferable Skill Development OSU is committed to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees. Applicants must be academically enrolled students who meet specific credit hour requirements. Candidates are required to have prior experience with children, hold a Food Handler’s Certification, and pass a criminal background check.
