About the role

The service coordinator manages a caseload of infants and toddlers, providing and documenting early intervention services in home and community settings. They also conduct developmental assessments and participate in the development of individual service plans and transition planning.

Full-Time Early Intervention Service Coordinator (Level II) Needed in Rhode Island!

Schedule

Full-Time; 40 hours per week hours may flex based on business needs - typically either 7:00AM- 3:00PM, 8:00AM -4:00PM, or 9:00AM- 5:00PM)

Salary: $56,160- $67,392 (Based on education and experience)

Sign-On Bonus: $1,500

Job Duties

  • Coordination and provision of Early Intervention services for infants and toddlers while managing an assigned case load including:
  • Working with children and families at home and in community settings daily
  • Coordination of services identified in the service plan
  • Provision and documentation of services
  • Participation in EIP (Early Intervention Program) team meetings and training sessions
  • The service coordinator participates in multidisciplinary eligibility assessments for children, age birth-to-three years old including;
  • Conducting assessments of developmental functioning
  • Participate in the development of individual service plans for the child and family
  • Coordinates the child's transition to the local education agency at age three

Education, Experience and Special Skills

  • Education: Master's Degree in a related field OR;
  • Master's Degree in a non-related field and a minimum of two years' experience working with or caring for children birth- K OR;
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program and certified by the Rhode Island Department of Education in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Certification or licensure in a relevant field, e.g. occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychology, nursing, etc., or related field (i.e. child development, social work, psychology, communication disorders, or nutrition) and one of the following:
  • A minimum of two years' experience working with or caring for children birth-K
  • Completion of the URI Early Intervention Certificate Program which includes 1,000 hours in EI (approx. 6 months @ 40 hours per week) which can be concurrent with coursework upon graduation
  • Completion of the RI Early Intervention Certificate Program OR;
  • Bachelor's Degree in a non-related field and a minimum of two years' experience working with or caring for children birth- K and completion of the RI Early Intervention Certificate Program
  • Provide services that are billable to insurance companies and Medicaid for services provided at the level of a “Qualified Professional” as defined in the Rhode Island EI regulations
  • Experience working with young children with behavior disorders, autism or other developmental disabilities preferred. We welcome candidates with early childhood or home visiting experience
  • Knowledge of behavioral procedures and experience in developing and implementing programs designed to improve identified behavior challenges
  • Valid driver’s license, registration and auto insurance required

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a related field or a Bachelor's degree with specific certifications and experience working with children birth to kindergarten. A valid driver's license, registration, and auto insurance are required for travel to client locations.
