The School Social Worker will provide direct and indirect emotional and behavioral support to preschool students through push-in classroom services and small group sessions. They will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to conduct IEP evaluations and implement behavioral intervention plans.
Supporting learners across a variety of needs/programs - including general education, special education, and GSRP classrooms. Services will primarily be push in, as you will be leading social emotional groups and lessons within the classrooms.
Dedicated
Space: You will have a private, dedicated office space in each building to conduct sessions and meetings.
Provide direct and indirect social work services to students in need of emotional, behavioral, and social support. Push in to classrooms to provide therapy while supporting and collaborating with teachers. Work together with the multidisciplinary team to prioritize student success and safety. Conduct IEP evaluations and contribute to the development of meaningful student goals. Facilitate small group and individual sessions. Lead and support the implementation of BIPs and FBAs. Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings to advocate for student needs. Support students and families in accessing community resources.
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. Michigan School Social Work Certification (Required) Experience working with preschool-aged children is strongly preferred along with prior school-based experience. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
