Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, a Catholic parish school located in Ilchester, Maryland, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. This position will work 7 hours per week.
The Physical Education Teacher will provide grade school students with a comprehensive educational and physical fitness experience aligned with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum standards. The successful candidate will create a learning environment that fosters an understanding of the relationship between physical fitness, healthy body function, exercise, wellness, and athletics while promoting lifelong healthy habits.
Essential Functions
Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, in a timely manner.
Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification, required.
Classroom teaching experience preferred.
Proficient in using a variety of technology.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and possess or be willing to obtain MSDE certification. Previous classroom teaching experience is preferred, along with proficiency in educational technology.
