Position

Overview: Start Date - August 2026 The Early Elementary ICT Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in an integrated co-teaching classroom setting (Kindergarten–Grade 2). This teacher collaborates closely through co-teaching with the general education teacher to deliver differentiated and small group instruction aligned to state standards, ensuring all students can access grade-level curriculum in the least restrictive environment. The ideal candidate is student-centered, highly collaborative, skilled in differentiated instruction, and knowledgeable about early childhood development and inclusive practices.

Key

Responsibilities: Instruction & Classroom Support Co-plan and co-teach daily lessons with the general education teacher using inclusive co-teaching models (e.g., parallel teaching, station teaching, team teaching). Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Implement evidence-based interventions in literacy, math, and social development. Provide small-group and individualized instruction aligned to students’ IEP goals. Modify and adapt curriculum materials to ensure accessibility. Use multi-sensory and developmentally appropriate instructional strategies. IEP Development & Compliance Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collect and analyze student data to track progress toward IEP goals. Write measurable annual goals and progress reports. Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and service providers. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations. Collaboration & Communication Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, related service providers (speech, OT, PT), school psychologists, and administrators. Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress. Participate in grade-level and professional learning meetings. Classroom Environment Foster an inclusive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment. Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies. Support students’ social-emotional growth and independence.
