The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide direct therapy services, conduct evaluations, and develop individualized IEP goals for students. They will also collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and manage caseload documentation.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-Based Redford, Michigan | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year | On-Site TheraPeds Partners is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for a full-time, school-based opportunity in Redford, Michigan for the 2026–2027 school year. If you enjoy working with children, collaborating with educators and therapists, and helping students develop the communication skills they need to participate successfully in their school day, this could be a great fit. You'll work with students with support from both the district and the TheraPeds team.

Position Details

Full-time: 36-38 hours per week School year: August 2026–May 2027 Grades: Elementary or Elementary - High School Setting: On-site, in-person Pay: $55–$65/hour, based on experience and employment arrangement Weekly compensation is based on 37.5 hours Guaranteed hours, including designated documentation, planning, and administrative time Manageable caseload Support from both the school district and TheraPeds Partners What You'll Do As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll help students develop the speech, language, and communication skills needed to access their education and participate successfully in the school environment. Your responsibilities may include: Providing direct speech and language therapy services to students individually and in small groups Conducting speech and language evaluations and assessments Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized IEP goals Evaluating student progress and adjusting intervention strategies based on student needs and data Providing consultation and support to teachers, special education staff, and families Supporting students with articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social/pragmatic communication, and other communication needs Supporting students who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), as appropriate Monitoring student performance and collecting data to measure progress Completing timely and accurate documentation and progress reports Participating in IEP, eligibility, reevaluation, and interdisciplinary team meetings Managing assigned student caseloads and required documentation Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, therapists, administrators, and other school professionals Providing case management services, as assigned What We're Looking For Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program Active or eligible for Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist licensure Appropriate Michigan Department of Education certification or credential for school-based practice, as required ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred Clinical Fellowship (CF-SLP) candidates may be considered, with appropriate supervision available Experience working with children School-based experience preferred, but not required Strong understanding of speech and language development, assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring Knowledge of the IEP process and special education services Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational, documentation, case-management, and time-management skills Comfortable using technology for documentation, communication, assessment, and service delivery Ability to successfully complete required fingerprinting and background clearances Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, educators, administrators, and related-service professionals Professionalism, tact, discretion, and respect for student and family confidentiality Physical Requirements School-based therapy is active and hands-on. The SLP must be able to safely participate with students in a variety of school environments and activities. Physical responsibilities may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, transitioning to and from the floor, and lifting or assisting with students, materials, or equipment as appropriate to the position. All responsibilities will be performed in accordance with assigned duties, district safety requirements, and applicable accommodations. Master's or PhD degree from a Speech-Language Pathology program State License as Speech-Language Pathologist Department of Education Licensure as a SLP National License: ASHA Licensing with the State Department of Education, where required CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) preferred CF-SLP placement may be available Experience working with children Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required Organizational and time management skills Proficient in use of technology Fingerprint background clearance Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications Physical Requirements Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
