The swim instructor is responsible for teaching swimming and water safety skills to participants of various ages and abilities while ensuring a safe environment. They must also monitor progress, enforce facility rules, and respond effectively to emergencies.

Be familiar with water safety courses and know how to use course materials effectively Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants, so they can meet course objectives Provide for the health and safety of participants, including ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards, and that materials and equipment are safe Cover all material required in a level Communicate regularly with participants and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies in accordance with facility emergency action plans Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations Complete records and reports Participate in regular in-service training sessions Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor What We Require:
Minimum two years high school education.
Minimum one year lifeguard experience preferred. Previous swim lesson instruction preferred.
WSI Certification or Obtain within 90 days of hire date American Heart Association BLSCertification (CPR/AED, First Aid) Lifeguard Certification through American Red Cross or otherapproved certifying body.
Previous work with children and adult private lessons and children group lessons.
Compensation
Range: $13.00 - $18.00 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.

Candidates must have at least two years of high school education and possess or be willing to obtain WSI, CPR/AED, and Lifeguard certifications. Previous experience in lifeguarding or swim instruction is preferred.
