Miami Children’s Museum Charter School is looking for energetic, creative, and dedicated Afterschool Instructors to join our team. If you enjoy inspiring young minds, planning fun activities, and creating memorable learning experiences, we’d love to hear from you!

As an Afterschool Instructor, you’ll lead a classroom of students through engaging, hands-on activities that encourage creativity, curiosity, and personal growth. You’ll create exciting lesson plans while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where every child feels supported and excited to learn.

What You'll Do Supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in your care.

Develop and implement lesson plans that are creative, engaging, and aligned with curriculum goals (lesson plans submitted weekly).

Foster children’s growth through art, music, storytelling, science, math, and hands-on exploration.

Track attendance and maintain accurate records.

Encourage positive behavior through proactive strategies, incentives, and redirection.

Support language development, confidence-building, and problem-solving skills.

Work collaboratively with schoolteachers, afterschool staff, and Museum team members.

Communicate with parents and caregivers in a professional and positive manner.

Attend required staff trainings and complete yearly in-service coursework.

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Working toward an Associate’s degree (or higher) in Education or related field (two years of college credits may substitute). At least 1 year of experience leading groups of children in an educational setting (Museum experience a plus). Strong organizational and classroom management skills. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking). Must pass a Level 2 background screening (fingerprints) and drug test. CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
