The Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and maintaining a positive classroom environment. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate records, supervising children during activities, and fostering partnerships with families.
Under the administrative direction of the Education & Early Childhood Services Manager and the Classroom Teacher and directly supervised by the ECE Coordinator/Site Supervisor the Teacher’s Assistant ensures age and developmentally appropriate activities for all children.
$30,257 per year - 10 Months - $20.8813 per hour
Full Time: 35 Hours per week

Certification or License Requirements: First Aid and CPR Certified
CDA Credential must be obtained and maintained within one year of hire.
Associate degree credential, or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential.
Experience teaching pre-school children, preferably in Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms; minimum of three years experience working with preschool aged children and families.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements.
Respect and maintain rights and privacy of all staff, parents, and children.
Attend mandated trainings and meetings, and seek out staff development opportunities.
Work as a team member with all staff and maintain a positive work ethic.
