About the Role
The ELL/LEP/Reading specialist plays a critical role in supporting English Language Learners (ELL) and Limited English Proficient (LEP) students to achieve academic success through targeted reading instruction and language development.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Reading, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in English as a Second Language (ESL), Bilingual Education, or Reading.
- Demonstrated experience working with ELL/LEP students in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of language acquisition theories, reading instruction methodologies, and assessment tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in TESOL, Reading, Literacy Education, or a related discipline.
- Experience with culturally responsive teaching practices and differentiated instruction.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to ELL/LEP education and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in multiple languages or experience working in multilingual educational environments.
- Training or certification in specialized reading programs such as Orton-Gillingham or Wilson Reading System.
