About the role

The tutor will provide individualized academic instruction and executive-functioning support to a middle school student. They will help the student develop effective study habits, organizational systems, and greater academic independence.

We are seeking a kind, engaging, and highly skilled homeschool tutor to become a consistent part of a student’s educational team.

The student has a wonderfully supportive family that is deeply invested in his homeschool journey and committed to finding an educator who is an excellent match for his academic needs and learning style.

The student has diagnoses of ADHD, autism, and dyslexia and benefits from individualized instruction, clear structure, and executive-functioning support.

He is working primarily at the 7th–8th grade level, with writing skills reaching into the 9th-grade level.

The ideal candidate will be a strong, versatile educator who is comfortable providing support across content areas while helping the student develop effective systems, routines, organizational strategies, study habits, and greater independence.

Schedule and Location: Mondays and Wednesdays Approximately two hours per session Flexible timing In-person in Lewisville, NC Experience supporting middle or high school students across academic subjects Knowledge of ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and individualized learning approaches Strength in executive-functioning instruction, organization, and study-skills development Ability to build a positive, consistent relationship with a bright and engaging learner Teaching, tutoring, special education, or related professional experience preferred

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have professional experience in teaching, tutoring, or special education. They must demonstrate knowledge of ADHD, autism, and dyslexia, along with the ability to build a positive, consistent relationship with the student.
