Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities. Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching methods based on individual student needs. Provide specialized instruction in accordance with students' IEPs. Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes academic and social development. Create, implement, and manage IEPs for assigned students. Develop measurable academic, behavioral, and developmental goals based on student needs. Monitor progress toward IEP goals and maintain appropriate documentation. Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress with families and relevant team members. Ensure services and accommodations are provided as outlined in each student's IEP. Conduct and utilize assessments to identify student strengths, needs, and areas for growth. Regularly monitor academic, social, emotional, and behavioral progress. Maintain accurate student records and documentation. Adjust instructional strategies and interventions based on assessment results and student progress. Work closely with general education teachers to support students in inclusive educational settings.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) endorsement. Must be authorized to provide special education services to K-3 students in Illinois. Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities is preferred. Experience developing and managing IEPs, conducting assessments, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
