Position Summary

The Northwest Tri-County IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking part-time Adult Education Instructors to provide individualized basic Language Arts, math, science, and social studies instruction for GED Exam preparation or for entry into career or post-secondary education. Currently we have the need for an instructor to provide instruction at the Corry Higher Education Council in Corry, PA, working 8.5 hours per week. Schedule will be as follows: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 am - 12:00 pm 8:00 - 9:00 will be Plan/Prep and Professional Development 9:00 - 11:30 - Class Instructional time (Hyflex) 11:30 - 12:00 Student Support Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent foreign credential Instructors that are teaching high school level mathematics, must have a secondary math teaching certification or a bachelor's degree or higher Desired Qualifications: Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred Teaching experience preferred Knowledge of Adult Education and College and Career Readiness Standards Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students Retired teachers are encouraged to apply

Requirements

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, with specific teaching certifications needed for mathematics instruction. Preference is given to candidates with a valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate and experience in adult education or ESL.
