ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to students in grades TK-12 in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily, complete all assignments, and attend required live instructional sessions. K12, inc. is our curriculum provider.
Speech therapy sessions are conducted online, using a HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform. Learning Coaches are required to be present for all virtual therapy sessions.
$37.25 per hour
As all of our schools are public schools and this is a public school position, these are set contracted hours and you must be working during these hours while under contract with the California Virtual Academies. You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours.
We do participate in CalPERS.

As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), you will work directly for the K12 Powered Online Schools, including the nine independent California Virtual Academies, the Insight Schools of California, and the iQ Academy California-Los Angeles. You will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Student Support Services and a licensed speech-language pathologist.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; and experience using a student information system and/or other type of database software. Experience moderating web meetings (Blackboard Collaborate, Webinar, Webex) for small and large groups.

This position is a virtual position working from a home office. Must have ability to travel throughout the school year within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, proctor state exams and participate in school activities and orientations.
