Job Description

The Clinical Educator functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, developing and implementing strategies and programs designed to meet the health care education needs of the LMH community. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises and provides training to PRN instructors that assist in teaching certification classes to ensure high quality courses are being taught at LMH. Assesses LMH staff educational needs and develops programs to meet those needs. Mentors new clinical staff so they have the resources and the knowledge to perform their role at a high level. Collaborates with clinical departments to identify any educational gaps at LMH. Provides educational opportunities that are open to all departments at LMH. Attends meetings to stay in tuned with the educational needs of the staff at LMH. Creates new learning opportunities using a variety of teaching methods in an effort to reach all audiences. Schedules courses so that staff have opportunities to maintain necessary certifications. Promotes teamwork and collaborates with other members of the health care team, including community agencies, to deliver educational services. Possesses excellent presentation and teaching skills, superior verbal and written communication skills and appropriate interpersonal skills. Demonstrates knowledge of educational tools (i.e. computer, audiovisual equipment etc.), and a variety of age-specific teaching and learning principles and skills. Maintains effective public relations with news media, hospital staff, physicians, patients, vendors, volunteers and the public. Able to prioritize and handle multiple projects, work independently and under deadline pressure. Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position JOB QUALIFICATIONS Required: Current Kansas Registered Nurse licensure Bachelor’s degree in Health Education emphasis or Registered Nurse with teaching experience Working experience in the area of specialty for the clinical educator position need Preferred: Master’s degree Our Cultural Beliefs People First Integrity Matters Better Together At LMH Health, we value inclusion and diversity. Requirements

Candidates must hold a current Kansas Registered Nurse license and possess a Bachelor's degree in Health Education or equivalent teaching experience. Working experience in the relevant clinical specialty is required, while a Master's degree is preferred.
