  • Range: $30.00 - $32.00 HourlySt. Catherine of Siena School is seeking an on-call substitute teacher for our Kindergarten-8th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. Located in the beautiful Maple Leaf community of north Seattle, our school offers a competitive wage and a welcoming, inclusive environment. Applicants need to have a minimum one year's teaching experience working with K-8 students, preferably in a teaching capacity in a school environment.

Schedule

Hours vary based on availability and need.

Typical substituting hours are 8:00

AM - 3:30

PM or 8:00

AM - 12:30 PM. This schedule varies based on staff absences.

You will receive call/text daily by 5:45 AM if a substitute is needed for the day, and furture scheduled days for substituting will be communicated as needs arise.

Position Summary

The substitute teacher teaches lessons based on substitute lesson plans, provides student support, encourages student's progress, and assists in managing the learning environment. Duties include (but aren’t limited to): Assisting and working collaboratively with other staff Working with students who have a diverse set of needs and learning styles Helping to maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment Teaching students in various grades Close out the school day and prepare the classroom for the morning Promoting healthy peer interactions between children of all abilities Maintaining confidentiality at all times QualificationsThe ideal candidate should demonstrate the following characteristics: comfortable working in a faith-based, Catholic environment ability to foster social and academic growth among children genuine care and concern for students enthusiasm for learning ability to collaborate with staff members dependable work ethic shows initiative and is self-driven has flexibility in scheduling Hourly wage is dependent on experience. OTHER: Salary: $30-$32/hour. Any offered wage is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills, and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
