About the role

Overview Occupational Therapist (OT) – School-Based - Permanent Placement Start Date: September/October – Exact Date TBD HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based therapy services to students with disabilities. In this role, you will help students develop the skills needed to participate in learning, classroom activities, self-care, and other school-related tasks while supporting progress toward their IEP goals.

In this role, you will help students develop the skills needed to participate in learning, classroom activities, self-care, and other school-related tasks while supporting progress toward their IEP goals. Responsibilities

Evaluate Student Needs Conduct occupational therapy evaluations, screenings, and assessments. Identify students who may benefit from occupational therapy services. Assess fine motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, daily living skills, and other areas affecting school participation. Document evaluation findings and make recommendations for services and supports. Provide Therapy & Intervention Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy programs. Provide therapy services designed to improve handwriting, fine motor skills, classroom participation, independence, and other functional school-based skills. Use effective therapy strategies to support student progress. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed. Support IEP Services Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on the development of therapy goals and services. Provide occupational therapy services in accordance with students' IEPs. Contribute clinical expertise and recommendations to support student success. Create Adaptations & Supports Develop or obtain specialized materials, adaptive equipment, and other supports. Modify classroom tasks and environments to improve accessibility and participation. Provide recommendations to support students' motor, sensory, and functional needs. Collaborate With School Teams Partner with teachers, special education staff, families, and other related service providers. Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Provide consultation and guidance regarding motor skills, sensory needs, adaptive equipment, and classroom supports. Train & Support Staff Provide training, consultation, and in-service education to school staff. Help educators and staff understand student needs and implement appropriate strategies and supports within the classroom. Maintain Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely records related to evaluations, therapy services, and student progress. Ensure services and documentation comply with IDEA, applicable Georgia laws, district requirements, and professional standards.

Qualifications

Valid Georgia Occupational Therapist license. Experience or interest in providing occupational therapy services in a school-based setting. Knowledge of motor development, fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence. Understanding of special education requirements and IDEA. Strong assessment, communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Ability to develop individualized therapy plans and adapt environments to support accessibility. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to support services across two elementary school locations. Requirements
