Responsibilities
Develop lesson plans and set high expectations for students Assign and grade classwork, homework and tests Establish and enforce classroom rules and standards Take attendance and keep daily notes Help students prepare for standardized testing Supervise students during recess, lunch and other activities Keep parents informed of their child's progress through a class newsletter, updates and parent-teacher conferences Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom Help plan and lead fall and spring field trips Work with staff to fill gaps and follow school policies Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development Learn and apply classical Christian teaching methods
Qualifications
Proven experience as a teacher or in a similar role Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents and administrators Confidence speaking in front of groups and enforcing classroom rules Creativity to build engaging lessons and inspire students to learn Physical and mental stamina to keep pace with energetic grade school students Detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Degree in Education; master's degree a plus Classical Christian education experience a plus Teaching license preferred About Spring Hill Christian Academy Spring Hill Christian Academy (SHC) serves K-8 children and families in Spring Hill, Thompson's Station and the surrounding Middle Tennessee area.
