You'll also shepherd your class as a mentor and positive role model, helping students develop strong moral character.

The ideal candidate knows effective teaching practices that make learning engaging and meaningful, and brings the interpersonal and organizational skills that support a positive school culture.

Responsibilities

Develop lesson plans and set high expectations for students Assign and grade classwork, homework and tests Establish and enforce classroom rules and standards Take attendance and keep daily notes Help students prepare for standardized testing Supervise students during recess, lunch and other activities Keep parents informed of their child's progress through a class newsletter, updates and parent-teacher conferences Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom Help plan and lead fall and spring field trips Work with staff to fill gaps and follow school policies Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development Learn and apply classical Christian teaching methods

Qualifications

Proven experience as a teacher or in a similar role Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents and administrators Confidence speaking in front of groups and enforcing classroom rules Creativity to build engaging lessons and inspire students to learn Physical and mental stamina to keep pace with energetic grade school students Detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Degree in Education; master's degree a plus Classical Christian education experience a plus Teaching license preferred About Spring Hill Christian Academy Spring Hill Christian Academy (SHC) serves K-8 children and families in Spring Hill, Thompson's Station and the surrounding Middle Tennessee area. SHC is a private classical Christian school committed to academic excellence from a Biblical worldview, with small class sizes and a family-like learning environment. Our mission is to support parents in raising young men and women who can reason, discern and apply Truth as the Lord leads them to reach their fullest potential. We do this through Scripture, the time-proven tools of classical education, small class sizes and a family-like community. One thing to check: the About section says K-8, while your current SHCA positioning frames the school as preschool through 8th grade. You may want to align those.
