About the role

The teacher assistant will provide one-on-one support to a student within a least restrictive environment. The role involves assisting with daily educational activities and ensuring the student's needs are met in the classroom.

Months- 9 hours per day- 7 program

  • Least Restrictive Envrionment (one-on-one assistant). This position is for an aide for a student. Please ensure that you have read the job description for the position. Required documents for the job which you are applying to, must be attached to your application.

High school graduation or other equivalent (General Educational Development [GED], foreign equivalency, etc.). 2. Minimum of 48 credits from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) ParaPro assessment. 3. Experience working with children. Licenses and Certifications 1. Current CPR/AED certificate from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or a similar organization. Certification must be maintained for duration of assignment. Certification training must be in-person and include a hands-on component. Online courses will not be accepted. A copy of the front and back of the CPR/AED certificate must be uploaded into the application.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Signing abilities (for the hearing-impaired program). 2. One (1) year of experience working with special education children. Document(s) Required at Time of Application 1. High school transcript or other equivalent (GED, foreign equivalency, etc.). 2. College transcript(s) from an accredited college or university, if applicable or copy of passing score on the ETS ParaPro assessment. 3. Current CPR/AED certificate, as indicated above. A copy of the front and back of the CPR/AED certificate must be uploaded into the application. 4. Specific documented evidence of training and experience to satisfy qualifications. Out of District Applicants-REQUIRED EMPLOYMENT HISTORY: Please disclose the three (3) most recent years of work experience including dates of unemployment, schooling and volunteer work under the “Experience and Credentials” section of the application.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 48 college credits or a passing score on the ParaPro assessment. A current in-person CPR/AED certification is also mandatory for the position.
