This is a dual role supporting the ECE Montessori music program and assisting in the Primary classroom during the afternoon program. The ECE Music Teacher is a versatile and nurturing musician who supports our students' musical journey from infancy to age six, honoring each child's developmental stage through the Montessori lens. This role requires an educator who can move fluidly across three musical journeys: gentle rhythm and repetition in the Nido (3–18 months), joyful movement and exploration in the Toddler Community (1.5–3 years), and playful discovery of music and technique in the Primary Community (3–6 years). In the afternoon, the role shifts to supporting a Primary classroom, guiding children through transitions, work cycle choices, and engagement within our after-school community.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate and support developmentally appropriate music experiences across the Nido, Toddler, and Primary communities, honoring each stage's unique relationship to rhythm, movement, and musical discovery.
Integrate music into the daily rhythm of each classroom in true Montessori spirit, following the child and supporting language, coordination, and self-expression.
Support Primary classroom transitions and work cycle choices during the afternoon work cycle.
Curate a peaceful Primary Napping Space where children feel safe, warm, and cared for.
Foster meaningful engagement with children in the after-school community, creating a warm and engaged presence throughout the day.

Support growing and delivering a dynamic, engaging music program that is reflective of the MAC mission. Assist with weekly lesson plans that build skills sequentially across all age levels; maintain consistent documentation. Collaborate with Lead classroom teachers to communicate current curriculum and integrate the classroom with the music program. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe music studio environment, as the music studio should be a showcase for the program. Ensure the proper use and care of musical instruments and equipment.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess musical versatility with proficiency in singing and playing portable instruments. A Montessori certification or a strong commitment to its pedagogical principles is required, along with prior teaching experience.
Bachelor’s degree (related Music Education, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent) Orff Training Preferred Montessori Background: Montessori certification (AMI, AMS, or MACTE) or a strong commitment to Montessori pedagogical principles. Musical Versatility: Proficiency in singing and playing a portable instrument (recorder, ukulele, or guitar) to lead mobile lessons. Prior teaching experience leading a classroom, serving a range of age groups, particularly early childhood. Group lead qualified or willingness to obtain certification within 6 months (teaching license preferred) Excellent classroom management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the students, families, faculty, and staff Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for teaching music to children. Ability to receive and implement feedback with grace. A lifelong learner who is dedicated to self-reflection and ongoing study.
