The School Psychologist will conduct psychological and educational evaluations while collaborating with staff and families to support student well-being. They are responsible for developing IEPs, providing counseling, and maintaining accurate student records in compliance with PDE guidelines.

Community Academy of Philadelphia Charter School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Psychologist to join our team. The School Psychologist will support the academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and overall well-being of students while working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and other members of the student support team.

Key responsibilities

Conduct and write legally defensible evaluations and re-evaluations.

Conduct psychological and educational assessments and evaluations in accordance with applicable requirements.

Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Provide counseling, consultation, and support to students as appropriate.

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to address student needs.

Assist with identifying academic, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns and developing appropriate interventions.

Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.

Maintain evaluation timelines per PDE guidelines.

Participate in manifestation determination meetings as needed.

Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate student support plans.

Support the school’s efforts to promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Valid Pennsylvania School Psychologist certification is required.
  • Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience working with school-age children.
  • Knowledge of special education regulations, assessment practices, and intervention strategies.
  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Pennsylvania School Psychologist certification and a Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field. Experience working with school-age children and knowledge of special education regulations are required.
