Louis.Job Summary The Catholic School Substitute Teacher provides instruction and supervision for students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

The substitute teacher maintains a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment while supporting the school’s Catholic mission, values, and educational goals.Job Responsibilities

Follow lesson plans, classroom procedures, and instructions provided by the regular teacher.

Deliver instruction and facilitate learning activities across various subjects and grade levels as assigned.

Maintain classroom order and enforce school rules, policies, and expectations.

Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.

Take attendance and manage daily classroom routines.

Provide appropriate assistance and encouragement to students.

Adapt to different classrooms, subjects, grade levels, and student needs.

Monitor student behavior and address concerns in a professional and appropriate manner.

Communicate relevant information regarding student behavior, classroom activities, or concerns to the regular teacher or school administration.

Supervise students during class, transitions, lunch, recess, assemblies, dismissal, and other activities as assigned.

Follow all school policies and procedures regarding student safety, supervision, discipline, and confidentiality.

Support and participate in school prayer, religious activities, and faith-based practices when appropriate.

Model Catholic values through respectful, compassionate, and professional interactions with students and staff.

Leave the classroom organized and provide appropriate notes or information for the returning teacher.

Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Job Requirements

Valid substitute teaching license or permit, as required by the state, diocese, or school.

High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or a degree in education is preferred.

Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting preferred.

Ability to follow directions and effectively manage a classroom.

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects, and classroom environments.

Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to exercise good judgment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.

Commitment to supporting the Catholic identity, mission, and values of the school.

Must complete all required background checks, child-safety training, and other diocesan or school requirements The Archdiocese of St.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid substitute teaching license or permit and possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.
