Orientation and Mobility Specialist

The specialist will work directly with eligible consumers who are legally blind or visually impaired to ensure they receive services and adaptive equipment to maximize their functioning and independence. This includes conducting ongoing assessments, establishing clear safety goals, coordinating support services, developing comprehensive care plans or ieps, and maintaining required documentation.

Candidates must possess a master's degree or a bachelor's degree accompanied by o&m certification from an aer-Approved university program, along with two to three years of relevant experience. Aer certification in orientation & mobility is mandatory, as is having a valid new york state driver's license or access to reliable transportation.
