Orientation and Mobility Specialist

The specialist will work directly with legally blind and visually impaired consumers to help them obtain necessary services and adaptive equipment to maximize their functioning and independence. This involves conducting ongoing assessments, establishing clear goals, coordinating with support services, developing comprehensive care plans or ieps, and maintaining required documentation.

Candidates must possess a master's degree or a bachelor's degree accompanied by o&m certification from an aer-Approved university program, along with two to three years of relevant experience. Aer certification in orientation & mobility is mandatory, as is having a valid new york state driver's license or access to reliable transportation.
