In Massachusetts, in-person holiday camp roles like this are typically driven by seasonal family demand in Boston, Brookline, and Cambridge. Competition often centers on candidates who can manage groups of children ages 3-12, show empathy, and keep activities organized; STEM experience is not required because training is provided. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save time, and if you apply, highlight your childcare experience and availability during the holiday period.
The Lead Teacher will be responsible for guiding their class to achieve core camp goals centered on safety, fun, and NORY Core Values, which include resilience, inquisitiveness, and empathy. This involves leading STEM projects, facilitating daily fun activities, celebrating camper growth, and creatively solving problems while collaborating with a team of teachers.
Candidates should possess preferred experience of 2+ years working with children aged 3-12, demonstrating love for children, empathy, and strong classroom management skills. A background in STEM is not required as thorough training is provided, but enthusiasm for learning and availability during holiday camps are important.
