- Education 1:1 Aide works with and is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the educational program with emphasis on behavior management/intervention and tutorial instruction.

- DUTIES
- AND
- RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated by typical activities): Implement direct instructional support to individual and/or groups of students, and attend classes with the student, as designated in the IEP. Adapt classroom activities, assignments and materials to provide an opportunity for all special education students to participate in general education classroom activities. Provide verbal and/or written feedback of student observations and student classroom support for assisting credentialed teacher in evaluating students. Collect data and maintain records on each student’s progress toward IEP goals Assist credentialed teacher with clerical functions such as correcting papers, creating lesson plans, making copies, helping with progress reports, adapting tests and assignments. Act as a cooperative team member in working with all Casa Pacifica staff, community, students and families. Model appropriate social skills, participation, and problem-solving skills Assist in managing student behavior by applying proactive and positive strategies when helping a student with behavioral concerns. Implement behavior support plans as designed by IEP team to help students. Perform other related duties as assigned by the administration or credentialed staff. Participate in Agency-approved interventions with students, as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associates Degree required Related experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children/adolescents and or training preferred Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Bilingual, preferred Understanding of child and adolescent development, behavior management and group process Aptitude to work with severely emotionally disturbed adolescents in a residential setting A valid California driver’s license is required for transporting clients. Any changes that may occur to your driving record must be reported immediately to Human Resources and your supervisor.
