Part Time Assistant Teacher

The assistant teacher is responsible for assisting in the general supervision and management of a classroom, ensuring a safe, nurturing, stimulating, and educational environment for children to develop socially, physically, emotionally, and cognitively. This involves attending to children's personal needs, assisting in program planning and implementation, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.

Candidates must be able to meet physical demands such as observing, lifting up to 30 pounds frequently, reaching quickly, crouching, and sitting on the floor for extended periods, along with obtaining necessary clearances like nys registry and criminal history fingerprint clearance. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a commitment to fostering children's development according to naeyc guidelines and completing 15 hours of early childhood training within the first six months.
