Teacher for the Visually Impaired

Key responsibilities include conducting student evaluations using various tests to determine visual functioning and skill levels, and developing and implementing individualized education plans (Ieps) with measurable goals. The role also involves teaching specialized skills like braille and orientation/Mobility, and consulting with regular classroom teachers.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and an indiana professional educators license for programs for the visually impaired, along with proficiency in braille reading/Writing and assistive technology. Desirable qualifications include experience with children with visual impairments (Birth through 21) and proficiency in sign language.
