General purpose

Molloy’s Tutoring Services tutors provide students with individualized assistance for course content and assignments. Professional Tutors lead one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions.

  • Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Work with students to help them understand key concepts of college-level introductory to advanced courses.
  • Reviewing syllabi topics and assignments with the student/s.
  • Assist students with homework, test preparation, and other academic tasks.
  • Assist students in improving their academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions.
  • Develop and distribute teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons, including study guides.
  • Providing students with positive and constructive feedback.
  • Expertise in teaching at the college level would complement this role.
  • Required minimum qualifications
  • Master's degree and/or prior college-level teaching experience in an academic discipline is preferred.
  • Responsibility for public contact
  • Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

Salary information

When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring hourly pay rate for this position is $40.00. This hiring hourly pay rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
