Core responsibilities
The exceptional children (Ec) teacher is responsible for developing and implementing the individualized education program (Iep) through planning, adapting materials, and delivering instruction to help students with severe disabilities meet academic, behavioral, and social goals. This role also involves monitoring student progress, maintaining compliance records, assisting with personal student needs, and acting as a case coordinator for assigned students.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a minimum bachelor's degree in special education and hold or be eligible for licensure in special education/Adapted curriculum (88092). Required abilities include deep knowledge of special education laws, instructional methodology, managing severe disabilities, and effectively implementing ieps compatible with student developmental levels.
