The Job

If you have a passion for the pool and enjoy kids, you’ll love being a swim instructor in our fantastic indoor and outdoor pools. As a Swim Instructor, you will provide group swim instruction to students of varying ages and abilities while maintaining a safe and effective learning environment. Emphasizing fun and water safety is key. Ask us about our other Aquatics roles, including Lifeguard.

The Core Duties

  • Provide swim instruction to various levels and age groups and help improve overall skill set and technique
  • Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught at all levels
  • Plan lessons, select appropriate drills and evaluate the student’s progress
  • Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze, evaluate and correct performance, minimize fear and use appropriate teaching devices
  • Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment. Create an atmosphere where the student loves swimming and the water

The Essentials

  • Individual must have a dynamic personality. Enthusiastic, energetic, friendly & personable
  • Strong swimming background preferred
  • 1+ years of experience being an aquatic instructor preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, customer service oriented commitment to the fitness industry/environment
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certified preferred
  • Lifeguard Training Certified or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required
  • Experience working with children up to 12 years old
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must have the ability to inspire and motivate others with great people skills
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized, with good time management and great follow-up skills
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

Requirements
