Job description

  • What You’ll Do As an Associate Teacher (AT) at Veritas Prep, you will join a supportive, team-oriented environment designed to foster your growth as an educator.
  • In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing the academic and social-emotional success of our middle school scholars through the following responsibilities: Build Your Teaching Skills: Work closely with experienced educators through mentorship, observation, and hands-on classroom experience to prepare for a future lead teaching role in ELA, Math, Science, History, Special Education, or ESL/MLL.
  • Support Instruction: Serve as a substitute teacher when needed to ensure consistency in high-quality instruction.
  • Deliver Small Group Instruction: Teach daily academic support lessons (1–10 students) tailored to students who need extra support or enrichment.
  • Foster Positive Relationships: Build meaningful connections with students and families to contribute to strong, high-expectation classroom cultures.
  • Engage in Coaching: Participate in regular coaching and feedback sessions to refine your practice.
  • Support School Operations: Help lead daily duties such as hallway transitions, lunch, and advisory.
  • This role is ideal for aspiring educators—including recent graduates, career changers, and education students—looking to gain meaningful classroom experience before stepping into a lead teaching role.
